(Reuters) - U.S. appetite hulk Chevron Corp is set to make known on Monday the designation of 7,700 solar energy panels nearby Bakersfield in California, that is approaching to furnish 740 kilowatts of electricity, the Los Angeles Times said.
The tilted panels will be used to energy the pumps and the pipelines operated at Chevron"s Kern River oil margin facility, the paper said.
The panels paint ultimate photovoltaic technologies from 7 companies that Chevron is seeking at as probable possibilities to energy the operations worldwide, the paper said.
Photovoltaic record involves converting object in to electricity.
Excess energy will be re-routed to the internal Pacific Gas Electric Co application grid underneath a metering complement that gives Chevron credit for the additional energy, the paper said.
Chevron could not be rught away reached for criticism by Reuters outward of unchanging U.S. commercial operation hours.
